Requirements for Study in Japan

Age

Applicants must meet the age criteria specified by the educational institution or visa requirements. Applicants should be 28yrs below.

Education

Applicants should at least have 12 years of basic education, the minimum requirement is at least second year of college / university.

Purpose

A concise and well-defined explanation of the intention behind the application, whether it’s for study, work, research, or other activities in Japan.

Nihongo

Demonstrated proficiency in the Japanese language, usually through language tests like JLPT/ NAT/J-test. For other schools 150hr certificate is enough.

Sponsor

Only relatives can be sponsors. Some schools allow self sponsorship and sponsors should be employed or owns a business with at least 700k php in bank.

Documents

Applicants should be able to get all the required documents as well as the sponsors. One missing document could mean failure to acquire COE.

Application Process: Study in Japan PH

Screening

After selecting a school for study in Japan, an online meeting will be scheduled to screen the applicant. The result will be communicated within a week.

Doc Acquisition

The school will then send an Application form together with the required document list. After acquisition, all we be checked thoroughly.

Sending of Docs

If all of the documents are good, the applicant will be require to send all the documents together with to Japan for COE application.

Release of COE

Applicants await COE (Certificate of Eligibility) application result for 2-3 months, crucial for application success.

Payment of Tuition

When the COE is released, the applicant must pay all the necessary fees for the tuition fee. Only then will the school send the COE to UNMEI/the student.

Student Visa

The final step is to apply for a STUDENT VISA, the application must be done through accredited travel agencies by the Japanese Embassy.
